Chairs’ Forum

The Chairs’ Forum, comprising chairs of Local Governing Bodies (LGB), the Chair of Trustees and the Trust Leader meets half-termly. This is a valuable platform for communication between the  Local Governing Bodies and the Trust Board, for strategy development, feedback and consultation.

Finance Chairs’ Forum

The Local Governing Body Chairs of Finance Committees meet every year with the Trust Director of Finance and Operations to discuss financial strategy and  budget issues.

Professional Clerking

Learn-AT works with Syzygy and a number of independent clerks to provide a professional clerking service for the Trust Board and LGBs.  We use Governor Hub as a platform for communication and storage of governance documents. All Learn-AT local governors and Trustees have a Learn-AT Office 365 account for secure communication via MS Teams and email and for remote meetings on Teams.

Governor Hub

All communication relating to formal Trust Board and Local Governing Body meetings, and associated documents  are kept in Governor Hub.

Governance Lead Professional

Central support for governance is provided by our Governance Lead Professional, Pippa Darbourne. Pippa has completed the Confederation of School Trusts Insights programme. She provides a point of contact and information for LGB chairs, coordinates meetings schedules, trustee and local governor training provision, liaises with clerks and  publishes the Learn-AT Governance Newsletter.

Governor Training, Development and Review

Learn-AT works with an external governance specialist to provide a comprehensive training programme for Local Governors. The Trust subscribes to the National Governance Association for online support and training through NGA Learning Link - https://www.nga.org.uk/Home.aspx
